Golden Globes

I love awards season! I mean, the kinda-sorta-big awards like the Globes, the SAGs, and the Oscars. I can say, over all, I'm pleased with the way things went last night, and I suppose I'll cut this b/c it is a bit long...

Best Motion Picture - Drama: If Brokeback doesn't go on to win the Oscar, I'll be extremely shocked.

Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: I was routing for P&P, but expected Walk the Line, so no surprises. I really wish The Producers had turned out better than it did...

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama: I am so completely and utterly shocked Heath Ledger didn't win, but at least he and Michelle are losers together, eh? And, er, that Capote was a sickie...

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama: I expected Felicity Huffamn to win and am happy she did. Part of me couldn't help routing for Ziyi Zhang, though. I don't know why...

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: I expected Joaquin, and was hoping for Johnny, Nathan, or Cillian. And lol @ Depp coming up with Wonka's voice while playing barbies with his daughter. How cute is that? Ten bucks says he was doing a female voice.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: I like Reese Witherspoon and am very glad she won. And how sweet was Ryan? He seemed to excited and proud, just made me go "awww."

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture: Clooney's win is kinda meh. I was supporting Matt Dillon b/c Crash is awesome. And I like Paul Giamatti and would have liked to see Will Ferrel win if only for the hilarity that would have been his acceptance speech.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture: I'm glad Rachel Weisz won...so yeah...

Best Director - Motion Picture: Expected and wanted Ang Lee. That guy's adorable. And that is really funny, when you think about it, that Clint Eastwood presented him the award.

Best Screenplay - Motion Picture: I thought Brokaback would win and they deserve it, I suppose. However, Crash, as I have said, is awesome and should have won!

Best Original Song - Motion Picture: With the exceptionof the Producers', I hadn't heard any of these songs, so...yay for "A Love That Will Never Grow Old!"

Best Original Score - Motion Picture: I realize John Williams must have an entire wing of his house filled with awards, but I am a fangirl and cannot help being pleased when he wins. (Although, I sometimes do feel it is time for someone else to get some recognition.) Anyway, since Memoirs of a Geisha was the reason he didn't score GoF--don't get me wrong, Doyle did wonderfully--I'm glad it had a purpose, so to speak.

Best Foreign Language Film: It have been awesome if Kung fu Hustle won, but I was hoping for Paradise Now (b/c I've got a thing for Palestine) and expected it and am pleased.

Best Television Series - Drama: I was torn between my love for Los, Prison Break, and Grey's. I just didn't want Commander in Chief to win. (I have an illogical hatred of that show.) So yay for Lost!

Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy: I was hoping for Earl, which I thought had a chance, and would have liked to see Chris win. I wouldn't have minded Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, or Entourage. As it stands, I'm sick of Desperate Housewives, so boo to their winning!

Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television: Of the nominees, I'd only watched Into the West, and, as such, was routing for it, but I somehow thought Emprie Falls would win and am okay with that.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is Irish and spoke Irish and said "Ireland" in that wonderful accent of his. **swoon**

Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television: Yay for S. Epathe Merkerson! She had my support! And she and "Green?" Cute.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy: Wooo-hooo! Love Jason Lee though I do, I so wanted Steve Carell to win! If nothing else, it gives the Office some attention, and I really am loving that show!

Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy: I am exceedly happy Mary-Louise Parker won. I've always been a fan, and it spared us a Desperate Housewives win.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama: Three cheers for Hugh Laurie! Again, I'd have been okay with Wentworth Miller or Patrick Dempsey, or even Mathew Fox, (Am anti Kiefer Sutherland, again, for illogical reasons.) but I REALLY wanted Hugh to win. So huzzah!

Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama: Bleh. Geena Davis gave a good speech, so okay.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television: Routing for Naveen Andrews if only to here him talk naturally. I'm cool w/ Paul, though.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television: I was so excited for Sandra Oh and she was so cute. She just made me vary happy.
