Not so secret

Okay, having been way too spoiled for these eps (ironic, what with the title and all), I am not nearly as hyper as I usually am post new Avatar. That said, yay! Avatar is back!

Overall, I prefered the 2nd episode. The first felt a little too rushed, almost like they were trying to pack too much into it. And they were far and away from the awesomeness that was episodes 12 and 13 of season 1. Still good though. Random thoughts follow:

Suki w/o make-up! I like it. She's pretty. Sokka/Suki ftw! Love the jealous Sokka bit. "Is he taller than me?"

Oooo Ty-Lee and Sokka sitting in tree! Sokka/Ty-Lee ftw!

Toph still calls Aang Twinkletoes and that's all I really ask!

Sokka and "the spider." hehe!

Not sure what to make of the "Tokka;" it seemed more for the sake of the joke than as anything serious. And, as something truely shippy, it'd be kinda random. (Like, if they wanted to highlight Toph's crush, wouldn't a jealous reacction to Suki's arrival (or something similar) be more fitting?) I'm gonna go with it being a response to Sokka's lack of thanking Toph for saving him, as in this is Toph showing him how to properly thank someone for saving your life... Not really sure if this idea works, but it's what I'm going with for now until future episodes clarify Toph's feelings. (Those water-siblings man, ensaring 12 year old hearts everywhere! **will wait for a fic featuring Aang and Toph trying to help each other attain their respective crushes only to discover/have it hinted that they'd be better off/happier with each other**)

Oh, and my Taang side loves that Toph is now in charge of carrying Aang's nut-crackerstaff.

Iroh's tourist hat! XD

Zuko/Jet is good stuff and I can't wait for the fight. I hope Jet stays "evil." I prefer him that way. (And he soooooo has a man crush on Zuko.)

Smellerbee/Longshot otp! ...Seriously, though, I enjoy Longshot.

Glad they touched upon Aang's needing to control himself and his Avatar state better.

The Aang/Katara was sweet, though I can't see it as being shippy. Or overly shippy, that is. (Still def. Aang->Katara) I just enjoy their relaitonship on a platonic level too much. And Katara fixing his color was just adorable. (Seriously, that AI article blew things WAY out of proportion.)

Katara can deliver babies. Go her.

I'm all for the "mute" girl being Zuko's date. ...But is she mute? And who the hell is she? Shouldn't they have introduced her? (Did they and I missed it?) What the hell was the point of her being there? ...Unless she is going to be Zuko's date and they wanted to introduce (even though they really didn't) her/give her a connection to the Aang Gang.

Makes me think, Sokka's names for "Team Avatar" do certainly amuse. (But when does Sokka not amuse?)

Finally get to see Katara do some powerful super master waterbending. That's nice.

Iroh flirting! Yay! "I'm going to pretend I didn't see that."

Zuko's "hello" to Jet amused me for some reason.

Aw, Zuko's learned he needs others! Good for him. (He WILL be redeemed yet!)

Cabbage guy! <3

Mai didn't want to get dirty. That seems about right. (Incidentally, the fact that she isn't so afraid of Azula that she'd risk the muck kinda rips to shred the argument of some that said fear was what prompted her to say "screw you, little bro," back in Omashu. She won't get dirty but she could care less about her little brother. Hmm.) I also enjoyed her "We lost."

Azula v. Aang. Very nice. And Aang was earthbending! And Toph's lessons helped bring down the drill. Good thing he's been paying attention!

Avatar cosplayers, lol.

And metalbenders. This episode was filled with fanon.

Iroh, you fool! You're supposed to be the responsible one! Don't firebend!

And how could I forget? Zuko's bowl stacking! Wins! It just wins! The boy's got all kinds of hidden talents, no?

Toph mentioned the Dragon of the West! I wonder if the gang told her who he was (as in nice old man=Iroh=Dragon of the West)... She was giving props to her buddy!

That random bit of Zutara fanservice cracked me up. Why hasn't Katara been returning your calls, you ask? Prob. b/c you don't have a phone, Zuko. **imagines Zuko doing the Boromir's imaginary phone thing.** (Though, seriously, if they aren't going to give us *something* they need to stop. Between this and the magazine (and comicon), it's just going to be cruel. In fact, it's downright sadistic!) Though, you know, if any of this stuff was Kataang...like if it had been a Kataang scene or a Kataang game in the mag, it would mean Katara/Aang was officially cannon, but since it's Zutara...it's banished to the realm of fanservice...le sigh.

And now for the next episode, yayness! I expect there will be some heavy Kataang, but I don't really care; it's new Avatar!
