Nooooooo!

Why, Grey's Anatomy? Why?

Cue Anne of Green Gables quote:

George/Izzy? Nooooo! Okay, I doubt I'd ever really be a fan of it, but I can understand where it's coming from. I can get it. But not now! Not when George is married! (And I <3 Callie! Yes, I agree that she's always mad at George and the dog/newspaper comment was apt, but I still <3 her. And George/Callie!) Not when I have been seriously hating Izzy for the past couple of weeks! Not now!

...And even if this had occurred at "better" time, I'm still not crazy about it. I enjoyed the fact that George and Izzy were bff and loved each other in an amazing but platonic way. I loved that all the interns weren't going to wind up swapping and sleeping with each other left and right. (Not that they are, but now the only platonic opposite sex relationship going on is Meredith and Alex; I don't count Christina b/c she's in her own little sphere of existence.) I loved that they were just good friends. But now... I don't know. I suppose it will remain to be seen. Either way, I mourn the friendship...

(And if this was planned all along, as they seem to be claiming it was, they could have given us some kind of foreshadowing for it. That is, I realize that the feelings are supposed to come out of nowhere, and they want the audience to feel this and blahblahblah, but... Well, take the season 2 finale; Izzy is in bed with Denny's corpse. No one could get her to move. Only Alex, with whom she had been previously romantically entangled and who still apparently loves her, was able to accomplish this feat. Why not, if it turns out she's in love with George on some subconscious level, have George get through to her instead? Little things like that would have helped me accept this...)

Also, British guy, back off of Burktina!

Meredith's storyline, however, (and Alex's too for that matter) are fine!
