First of all, the non-hacked "hacked" info:

Squee for Jet v. Zuko. that promises to be a good fight. I can't wait to see it and them interacting in general. I also expect there to be at least some facet of their meeting that I can twist to full fill my Zutara desires. That is, one has to assume Jet will make at least some kind of throw away comment relating to his encounter with the Avatar and since the focal point of said encounter related to Katara, one can hope for some mention of her. And, naturally, whatever Zuko's innocuous response is, it can easily be made to fit my purposes. Mwhahaha!

And yay for Suki! I do like her. I hope we get to see her sans facepaint. And I do have a soft spot for Sokka/Suki. Come to think of it, I have a soft spot for almost ever not too crack-y ship that involves Sokka. Wonder what that means.

Now, on to Comicon:

The Gaang gets to dress up! That's fun! My Aang/Toph side is hoping for Aang to get all blushy and weak kneed at the sight of her all dressed up. But my evil realistic side, tells me that he's kinda already seen Toph looking nice and if there is any blushing to be done it will be in reaction of Katara. **shakes fist at evil pervasive Kataang**

Now, provided the "Zuko goes on a date" thing isn't a joke, I think it's safe to assume that the date was not of his doing--especially if he's all duded up and has his hair parted. I mean, unless he goes through some kind of bizzarre shift in his basic personality, there is no WAY he's asking anyone of out or presenting himself in a such a manner. Therefore, it must be of Iroh's doing, a necessity due to extenuating circumstances, or both. Either way, I'd bet Zuko has ulterior motives and not the sort one would usually expect a 16/17 year old boy to have for taking a fair lass out on the town.

As for who it is, I haven't the foggiest. I'm all for a random earth kingdom chick, provided she doesn't stick around. For example, maybe she was a costumer who shows some interest in Zuko and Iroh makes him go out with her so they can get access to higher levels/circles of the city or this or that helpful person, place, or thing. (My Zutara side would also love for Aang Gang/Katara to encounter Zuko on said date if only for the hilarity and possible shippiness that would ensue.) And, of course, as much as I love the idea of it being Katara, I cannot fathom how that could possibly come to pass at this point in the game. Of course, I would never have thought that the second episode of season two would feature Katara proposing she and Aang kiss, so it wouldn't be the first time the show has thrown randomness at me, but still. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

I like Iroh's "second chances" line to Jet -> Zuko. He'll be redeemed yet! Hopefully by the end of the season, he'll be at the point where he's ready to be a little more useful to the Avatar. ;)

Laslty, much love for Zutara finishing off the shipping slide show. Much love for the shipping slide show in general. They really do watch the fandom. I like that. However, where was the love for my not so necessarily crack-y crack ships? Where was Song/Haru? (Hey! You know they'd be one of those horrifically perfect couples that no one else can stand to be around.) Mei/Jet? (Hey! You gotta admit he would bring some excitement to her life.) Ty Lee/Teo? (Hey! ...Well, okay, this one's out there and I'm not even sure I like it, but he's in a wheel-chair... she's all acrobatic... it could be a pairing...) Bah!

At any rate, I currently hate myself b/c I have gotten up a little hope concerning Zutara, which is just bad and wrong b/c I am only going to wind up with my hopes dashed and my heart lying crumpled on the floor. However, when I do try to think about it rationally, I do realize they have never had Katara and Zuko interract without giving us some small bone, and so I imagine that while Kataang will continue to dominate, they will keep throwing us small bones every once and awhile. Of course, it was these small bones that got me in to trouble in the first place. (WHy do I feel like the grammer in that last sentence is utterly incorrect...?) I was just fine and dandy after watching the premier with my "Hey, wouldn't it be awesome if the the water girl and that prince guy got together?" mentality. I knew it would be an imaginary ship that only I would see. And then they gave us that damn necklace sequence, and went "Buwuh? Is there actually hope? WTF? This is awesome!" And then they pulled the rug out from under my feet and Zutara went back to being imaginary but by that point it was the most popular ship around and so many people believed in it, that I've never really been able to go back and enjoy it's imaginary aspects. Now I actually, really want it to happen on the show, and it won't, and I know this, but I can't really make myself accept it. Gah! Hope is a bitch.

Any way, I have decided that Zutara cannot be sunk because we've never really been that much afloat to begin with. We're more like a ghost ship.

I have also decide that Zutara is a submersible vessel that dives into the depths when under heavy enemy fire (not that I consider any ships to be "enemies," but it works for the allegory) but resurfaces once the waters have calmed and when you least expect it. Once again...mwahaha! Mwhahaha, I say! Mwhahaha!
